Student Services

Al Dar University College enjoys the benefits of an urban campus as it is located in the heart of the historic business district of Dubai. Movie theaters, shopping centers, banks, restaurants, and other facilities are located in the vicinity of the College.

The College is situated near the Deira City Centre Metro Station and the GGICO Metro Station. Students commuting from all over Dubai have an easy access to the College. Transportation services are provided by the College to major locations in the Northern Emirates.

Al Dar University College provides students with the following facilities to enhance their learning experience:

  • Library, fully equipped with books, e-books, journals, magazines, online databases, CDs/DVDs, multimedia rooms, discussion rooms, computers workstations, wireless Internet connection, scanning, photocopying, and printing services provides faculty and students a conducive environment for their scholarly activities.
  • Classrooms and computer laboratories are equipped with smart interactive boards and state-of-the-art workstations.
  • Students have access to a spacious lounge to conduct their various extra-curricular activities in a convenient and friendly spot.

The College also provides ample parking space with three basement floors.

Academic Orientation and Advising

Academic Advising complements academic instruction and is thus central to the educational mission of the university.

Academic advising is designed to provide necessary tools and information to all students, allowing them to take responsibility for developing educational plans compatible with their goals; meeting institutional and degree requirements, and preparing for a life of change, challenge and individual fulfillment as active citizens.

The primary purposes of academic advising are to help students to select appropriate academic courses and programs, to establish effective mentor relationships, to use support services effectively, and to plan for the future.

Advising purpose is to:

  • Assist newly enrolled students in the selection of the appropriate academic program/ courses/concentrations.
  • Provide students with information and guidance about academic standards, rules and regulations of the university.
  • Monitor student’s academic standing to ensure improvement in their performance.
  • Address specific course/program related issues.
  • Assist students in exploring and understanding possible short-term and long-term implications and consequences of their choices


Library Timings
Spring 2017-2018:
Saturday – Thursday 8:0am – 9:00pm
  • Provide essential educational support to local campus community, through its collection of books , multimedia and internet resources.
  • Update the LRC collections with the latest resources to enhance and support the learning process.
  • Provide assistance in locating, evaluating, and effectively using library resources and instructional programs to teach library users to think critically about information.
  • Incorporate new technologies and services to help students, faculty and staff to discover, create and disseminate knowledge.

Library Infrastructure and Facilities

The library is located on the 4th floor spanning the area of more than 2500 sq. ft. with the following resources:

  • Reference and General Books section
  • CD Collections
  • Journals and Magazines
  • Reading Area
  • Students’ Computer Section
  • Photocopier and Scanner Room
  • Multimedia Room
  • Discussion and Study Rooms

Borrowing Procedures And Collecting Course Materials

  • Students are entitled to borrow learning materials for a maximum duration of one week subject to extension, by visiting the library for renewal at the circulation helpdesk
  • Students can collect course textbooks  required for the current studying semester from the book store
